Saturday, May 5, 2012, 11 am-2 pm, Global Village, Peoria Heights. - ONE Thrive is campaigning to stop malnutrition, not just for one child, but for 15 million. Global Village will host area ONE volunteers who are collecting several hundred unique, signed THRIVE campaign postcards, which will be sent to the White House by May 10 in advance of the G8 Summit. The postcards are unique in that they are embedded with plantable carrot seeds. Stop by, sign a card, sample some coffee and chocolate, and send a message: "Dear G8 leaders, "It's time to break the vicious cycle of hunger and poverty. Please urgently agree to and implement a bold global plan to ensure 50 million people escape poverty through agriculture and 15 million children no longer endure chronic malnutrition. World Fair Trade Day

May 12, 2012, 10 am-5 pm, Global Village - Help us celebrate World Fair Trade Day. We will have knitters demonstrating how to make a wool hat from our Kid Knits kits. We will also have face painting.
